One of our members – carpenter master and organic farmer – sets out today from Megesheim via Munich and Nairobi on the way to Uhola. In his time on the ground, he will support the construction of the school garden as well as the production of tables, chairs and shelves for the new classrooms. We are incredibly excited about your commitment and wish you a good flight!

We are looking forward to 2019 and hope that it will start how 2018 ended with successful fundraising and an on-going school construction project!

The construction of the pre-school classrooms began with a ground breaking ceremony with the local priest of the local Anglican Church. Subsequently, measurement work took place. We are very excited and wish you all a nice 3rd Advent!

Nikolaus (commissioned by the Holger Maack Foundation and the Rieser Bauernmuseums- and Mühlenverein e.V.) has paid a lot of attention to UVF this year and has donated over € 2,250. You are fantastic! Let’s see what else will happen during Advent season.

Thanks to one of our members, our ECDE-project has been proposed to RTL Foundation (“We help children”) as part of an employee project. And it gets even better: We were not only recommended, but also selected and sponsored with 2.400 euros. Thank you very much!

Supporting education means reducing poverty, creating local perspectives and giving children a future in their home countries. That is the aim of the joint initiative “1000 Schulen für unsere Welt” (1000 schools for our world) from the German Association of Cities and Towns (Deutscher Städtetag), the German County Association (Deutscher Landkreistag) and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund) together with the patron Dr. Ing. Gerd Müller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, started today in Berlin.

Cities, counties and communities together with their citizens and the local economy want to make an effective contribution to development cooperation, the fight against the causes of flight and the improvement of life situations in countries of the Global South.

At the invitation of District Administrator Stefan Rößle we traveled to Berlin to attend the kick-off event of the initiative.

Uhola Primary School students – as well as all other students in Kenya – have been diligently engaged in preparation for the national and partly school leaving examinations.
We keep our fingers crossed and wish all candidates much success! Na bahati nzuri!
